Creating vintage

Above is my Bersigar watch which is a surprisingly capable timepiece. The ceramic bezel is superb as is the timekeeping and the general feel of the watch. It is, however, a Chinese homage watch which is highly unoriginal and so with some spare time today I decided to make some changes.

First up I removed the bezel insert and put an alternative in bleach for 10 minutes. I then pulled the watch apart and held a cigarette lighter to various parts of the dial and to the hands. This took some time, but the end result is strikingly different as you can see below. I’m not sure if this was a good thing to do, but it was strangely enjoyable.
